THE OJBA STORY

Every brand has a beginning.

Ours began with a painting.

I’ve been creating and selling art since I was fifteen years old. By twenty-four I’d bought my own gallery, where I spent the next twelve years building a career around one simple belief: art should make you feel something.

Over the years I painted hundreds of pieces. Some sold within days. Others travelled across the world to new homes.

But one painting never left.

It wasn’t created for an exhibition or a collector.

It was painted during one of the hardest periods of our lives.

While trying to build our family through fostering and adoption, my husband and I experienced the unimaginable. We welcomed a child into our home, loved her completely, and then had to let her go. It was heartbreaking in ways words can’t quite explain.

Somehow, we found the strength to keep going.

When another little life entered our family, I found myself back in the studio.

Not because I wanted to create something beautiful.

Because I needed to.

The painting that emerged became a quiet reminder that hope doesn’t erase heartbreak—it grows alongside it.

If you look closely, you’ll find a dove woven into the piece. To me it represents resilience. The courage to begin again. The belief that even life’s darkest chapters can lead somewhere extraordinary.

Years later, that same painting became the logo for OJBA.

Not because it was designed to be.

Because nothing else could tell our story better.

Today our family is complete, and OJBA has become an extension of everything we believe in.

Every collection begins as an original body of artwork, created using mixed media, intuitive mark-making and layers of expressive texture. They explore identity, emotion, memory and the connections that shape all of us.

OJBA was never meant to stop at the gallery door.

It exists to bring original art into everyday life.

The permanent 00/1 collection forms the foundation of the brand and remains available throughout the year. Every collection that follows is released in strictly limited numbers, created from an entirely new body of work and never reproduced once it’s gone.

OJBA isn’t simply a clothing brand.

It isn’t just art either.

It’s a collection of stories.

Stories of resilience.

Of hope.

Of human connection.

And proof that sometimes the most beautiful things are born from the moments that almost broke us.
